One thing I love about being able to make jewelry is having the ability to replace custom pieces that have been lost or stolen. Recently I had the the pleasure of being commissioned to do so for my own mom. The necklaces to these earrings were stolen, but since I had the earrings to go on I was fairly confident I could replace that which was lost:
The second necklace was white and fuchsia glass pearls. One would think that matching beads would be easy to find- but this is the WRONG season to be looking for fuchsia! After banging my head against the wall for a while, I found glass pearls and pearl coated fuchsia druk beads. That was the closest I could find. The picture online made them look opaque, and they look opaque in the sunlight. Unfortunately in artificial light they look clear.

The bracelet was beautiful but lonely. So, I made it a full set! Now there are earrings and a necklace to keep it company while it waits for someone to adopt it.
